Free-Space Radar Level
Continuous level measurement in liquids and solids with free space radar sensors.

Radar Level Measurement
Endress+Hauser free space radar level devices are non‑contact instruments that transmit microwave energy from the tank roof and measure the echo from the product surface. Using high‑frequency FMCW technology and narrow‑beam antennas, they provide continuous level and volume measurements without touching the medium.
They deliver reliable performance in demanding conditions. Radar is largely independent of density or dielectric changes and stays stable through vapor, pressure, and temperature swings. 80 GHz sensors focus past nozzles and internals; echo processing rejects foam, turbulence, and condensate for repeatable accuracy with low maintenance.
Typical applications span storage and process vessels in chemicals, oil & gas, water and wastewater, power, and food & beverage, as well as bulk‑solid silos. E+H free space radar level devices handle aggressive or hygienic media with suitable antenna materials, cover long ranges, and support overfill prevention and inventory monitoring.
Endress+Hauser pairs robust mechanics with easy integration. Standard outputs (4–20 mA/HART, plus digital fieldbuses) connect to DCS and inventory systems. Commissioning wizards simplify setup; diagnostics and verification support proof testing and SIL. The result is precise, touch‑free level data and lower lifecycle cost.
