Endress+Hauser’s float switch devices deliver robust point level detection by buoyancy. Rising liquid tilts or lifts a float and actuates a microswitch or reed contact. Options include cable‑suspended tilt floats, side‑mounted styles, and top‑mounted guide tube designs with single/multiple set points for pump control and alarms.

They’re valued for simplicity and low overall cost. With no calibration and few wear parts, floats tolerate solids, foam, and scaling that trouble delicate sensors. Generous clearances resist fouling, and the on/off signal is unambiguous, easy to test, and dependable. Straightforward mechanics simplify proof testing.

Materials include stainless steel, PP, PVDF; cables in PVC, PUR, or rubber suit oil, chemicals, and wastewater. Counterweights, long leads, and gland kits ease deep or retrofit installs. IP68 sealing and robust mechanics extend life. Contacts (SPST/SPDT), hysteresis, and pump alternation relays integrate with PLCs and panels.

Typical uses include lift stations, wet wells, stormwater/utility sumps, chemical day tanks, bilge/separator skids, and mixer/washdown interlocks. Use for high/low alarms, overfill prevention, run‑dry protection, and simple two‑point pump control. For sticky media or heavy agitation, consider GWR or vibrating fork switches.
